Florida's Space Coast Fishing

Cocoa Beach and it's redfish filled Indian River Lagoon, Banana River Lagoon and Mosquito Lagoon are part of Florida's Space Coast. Named because of it's proximity to Kennedy Space Center and it's shuttle launches and landings, Brevard County has been dubbed the Space Coast. Kennedy Space Center has several attractions that include tours of the space center and bus rides into and around museums and historical parts like the Mercury spacecraft and Gemini launch facitlies from the 1950's and 60's and to the Apollo moon landing rocket laying on it's side near the VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building) that housed the shuttle before being transported on giant crawlers toward the launch pads over three miles away. All around the Space Coast you'll find great fishing for families and experts, so when you visit the Orlando area this in 2008 or next year, give us a call to set up a spectacular fishing trip in East Central Florida's Brevard County.

Space Shuttle lauches are infrequent but if you're lucky and on the Space Coast during a launch window, you might actually witness one of these spectacular launches while fishing on the surrounding lagoons. The Merritt Island wildlife refuge in the northern part of Brevard County with it's boundries partially defined by the Mosquito Lagoon to the north and the Banana River Lagoon to the south host some of the best redfish and speckled sea trout fishing in the world. Inshore fishing in these areas can be better than anywhere else in the world for when targeting these two species, but it doesn't stop there... there are hefty sized snook, opportunity tarpon fishing and if you venture offshore you'll be treated to reel sizzling action for kingfish, cobia, shark and a meriad of other offshore species.

Space Coast Fishing For Everyone

Hello,
My grade school name was MILA, an acronym for Merritt Island Launch Area and from there I watched on a black and white television astronaut Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon and from our playground we watched many of the Apollo moon launches. As I grew up in Brevard County or the Space Coast as our local chamber of commerce prefers us to call, it became apparent to my father that the fishing was world class where he took me as often as time allowed to catch cobia in the ocean, snook and tarpon in our waterfront backyard and redfish in the shallow water surrounding the island we lived on.

If you are visiting the Space Coast anytime soon please give us a call and we'll share with you some of the spectacular fishing that my father showed me while I was growing up on my island home on East Central Florida, Brevard County, Merritt Island and Cocoa Beach. You don't even have to pack your fishing rods, I have an excellent choice of top quality rods to bring in those spectacular Florida game fish.

God Bless,

Captain Richard Bradley

"I went inshore fishing with Captain Richard on a beautiful day in May and we caught tripletail and seatrout. Unfortunatley, I had rental car problems and didn't arrive at the fishing dock till almost 9:30am (3-1/2 hours late) and Captain Richard was gracious and offered me a splendid day of fishing in the late morning and afternoon. When I come back to Orlando next year, I'm spending a day of inshore fishing with these guys, it was a blast!

Where Is The Florida Space Coast?

Located less than 30 minutes east of the Orlando International Airport, and slightly further from Disney and it's surrounding themeparks Universal and Sea World is the Brevard County, Florida and it's coastline, islands and waterways filled with gamefish for any anglers to delight. When exiting from the Orlando Airport it's a straight shot on State Road 528 to world class fishing on Florida's Lagoons and straight on to Port Canaveral and the Atlantic Ocean for big game fishing and strolling on the beach.
