Best Fishing Trips
Florida's Space Coast Top Angling Adventures
Tuesday October 24, 2017
Florida's Central East Coast or Brevard County, labeled the "Space Coast" has several great fishing destinations for anglers looking for alternative methods, times, species and places. We've ranked our top fishing trips for anglers looking for variety when they head our direction looking for their next fishing trip.
Sebastian Inlet Snook Drifting
Sebastian Inlet marks the southern most boundary of Florida's Space Coast with The Treasure Coast on the south side of the inlet and Brevard County on the north side. Anglers can find a good bite almost all year around when the winds, waves and tides cooperate as this inlet has a treacherous reputation for swamping boats and monster sharks. An experienced Fishing Guide is very important to determine if Sebastian Inlet's timing is correct.
Snook & Redish are the most sought after fish while drifting the inlet, but there are large varieties of other gamefish too.
Mosquito Lagoon Sight Fishing
Slight tidal ebbs and flows make this shallow water lagoon an attraction for sight-fishing. Three main species of shallow water species make this a mecca of world renowned fishing targeting redfish, spotted sea trout and black drum. Bring polarized sunglasses to cut the glare on the clear water and let your guide show you where they are...
"Look at two o'clock, forty feet... There's a cruising redfish going right to left" as an excited fishing guide calls out directions for the next castSight fishing is not for the beginner, but it's as exciting as fishing gets and the World Famous Mosquito Lagoon offers the best sightfishing opportunities on the Space Coast.
Port Canaveral King fish
If you ask an experienced charter fishing Captain out of Port Canaveral "What's the most fun fishing?", you'll probably get one of two answers; "Sight Fishing for Cobia" or "King Mackerel Fishing". Both fishing world class fisheries on the Space Coast, but the most consistent of the two is probably the "Smoker" sized king fish that make long exciting runs on medium tackle.
A day out of Canaveral during the warmer months is your best bet and offers anglers a chance to catch some impressive sized king fish. Live baiting kings is by far the most productive, but let your Captain determine what's working and you'll usually not go wrong. Fishing for kings is a must when you're visiting the Space Coast and going in the ocean is a bonus that makes the trip that much more enjoyable.
Whichever Fishing Trip makes more sense to you when you're visiting the Space Coast, we can usually make it happen depending on weather and conditions. Ask about one of these destinations and types of fishing when you call to book your trip and we'll see if we can make it happen.

October - 2017 Fishing Report
The summer is over and the autumn winds are starting to prevail as we head toward the holidays and winter. With water temperatures on the fall and water levels above average you can find good numbers of fish very close to the shoreline and against the mangroves. Mullet are in their peak run and will start to subside as we enter November, but bait, comfort and the end of the redfish spawn should keep anglers busy during the month of October. Lie mullet will trump any given bait during the fall on most days and if you're lucky enough to run into a school of big breeding redfish, it typically doesn't matter what you throw at them, just be ready for these fish that often exceed forty pounds.
Wrapping up the October report, we have been catching snook along the deeper shorelines with the seasonally high water, breeding redfish are coming to an end, but you have a chance to catch them and the fall mullet fun will keep the gamefish interesting into November.

Lagooner Fishing Guides Review / Facebook
Inshore and Offshore Charter Fishing near Orlando and Cocoa Beach, Florida. Catch redfish, sea trout, tarpon, snook and many other saltwater gamefish aboard the world famous Lagooner flats fishing boat with renowned Captain Richard Bradley.
Captain Richard worked hard to put fish in the boat. We were able to bring in a few big Reds and some trout, and a couple keepers to take home for dinner. It's always the hope to be able to catch lots of fish, but fishing is fishing and there are no guarantees; the time of the year we travel to Florida also has an impact on our fshing success. This last trip out with Captain Richard my wife came along and thorougly enjoyed the experience and catching the big Reds. She is looking forward to our next trip to Florida and another fishing trip with Captain Richard.
